This well written book provides detailed accounts of many different techniques to transform your ancestral lineage. We all bring forward both the challenges and victories of our ancestors through our genetic blue print known as DNA. This is now understood in science as epigenetics. This wonderful book will provide you with expansive knowledge of how to work with and change your ancestral linage through grounded practices. If you choose to read this book you will go on a exciting journey of discovery to further expand your consciousness. It certainly has expanded my knowledge and I really enjoyed all the different perspectives of how to connect with ourselves and our family.

So grateful for this book! Each healer’s story is unique with a common thread……to help heal individuals of their ancestral wounds. I love reading each of their personal stories along with the tool and resources to do the work. Approaching this curiously expands the mind and allows for opportunities to grow. Ever wonder about your triggers? Ever wonder why you respond a certain way? Ever want to know more about your ancestral line? My favorite line from the book (paraphrased) “You would not be here were it not for them.” So why not learn more about them?! I highly recommend this book if you are curious about your origins, the wounds of your ancestral line, and wanting to heal those wounds for future generations. Heart-warming, vulnerable, and well written, this book has the ability to open our minds, our hearts, and our souls.

There is so much information available about spirituality, spiritual healing, energy healing. This book put into clear, inviting, concise terms and understanding the way that we can clear ourselves of (unwanted) energies. It is explained in uncomplicated terms and tools, how to recognize, embrace and release energies that we may never have known existed in our body, mind and spirit. Thank you to all of the Authors for taking the time and for sharing your expertise. Like a coveted cookbook handed down from generation to generation….this is a “staple” in Ancestral treasures.

I had no idea the strong impact this book would be for me! Every story was so unique and shared with an overflow of love. Each author deeply touched my heart with their own awareness and honesty. The shared tools were the frosting on the cake! Never have I experienced such healing tools all in one space. For that I am truly grateful and look forward to using more of them. Congratulations to these wise women who allowed all of us to gain a deeper wisdom for our own healing to occur. Much love and gratitude!

The Ancestors Within opens a portal into discovering and working with our ancestors. I love this book for several reasons. First, each of the stories, by different authors, tells of real life experiences of connecting with our ancestors, some of them to which I was able to relate. Second, at the end of each story, tools are offered to assist is in deepening our connection with our ancestors. I’m looking forward to exploring this work further.

As much as I was aware of the impact of our ancestors on our lives, I had no idea that there was so much to be said about. And most importantly, I had no idea that I would be able to break the cycles of limited beliefs and negative outcomes. I am excited to see the changes in my life using the tools that this book offers.

This book was very spiritual and opened my mind to looking into my spiritual ancestors. Chapter 9 written by my dear friend Deena Chester was emotional and plan to use her tools to reach out to my ancestors. I highly recommend this book to others.
Nicole Russo De Souza –
This book is fascinating. I have always had an interest in learning more about my ancestral roots. I just had no idea there were so many different ways and tools to tap into that wealth of knowledge. I feel so excited to have found this book. It offers 25 different viewpoints from experts in the field of ancestral heritage. Each one mentions an easy tool to get started on your own, as well as how to find them if you want to work with them too. The tools are easy enough that, for someone that hardly ever puts aside a book to try it out, I am motivated to try it! Thank you for this amazing book!

I’m not too far in, but, thus far, excellent read! I’m enjoying reading about Amy’s touch points coming together, and the notions around our ancestors’ lives and traumas impacting current life and the need to resolve those in order to heal in this life and move forward. It flows smoothly and makes a LOT of sense! I’m excited to keep reading! I also love that each author’s vignette is separate, and compelling as well. Beautiful lessons, story telling, and co-authors! Highly recommend! 5 stars!

“This book was fascinating! I have been exploring multiple modalities of healing for some time now. As a RN working with patients, I have been wanting to incorporate new levels of healing. This book has shown me ways of not only learning how to connect with my own ancestors, but has allowed me to start, and engage in, conversations with others on how to facilitate their own healing journey. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to know more about themselves and their ancestry!”

While the subject matter was new to me, the book was recommended by a special friend that thought it would be beneficial. She was so right. This book is very powerful and empowering. So much great information shared by these Wonderful Amazing Authors. The openness and personal information that some shared was so helpful and emotional to read. I definitely have a new favorite author and can not wait to read anything she publishes.

Wow! I couldn’t put this down! From the first story, I knew this book was going to be a really FUN learning experience. It’s jam-packed with thought-provoking stories and helpful exercises. I’ve already bought extra copies to share with clients who are exploring their ancestral stories. Such a powerful read, and one I will return to often for the exercises in every chapter.

This book has given me much to think about in terms of healing. In telling their stories, the authors each opened their souls for us readers. The healing tools are AMAZING. I am slowly reading each chapter to absorb as much of the healing as possible. Connecting with my ancestors is having such a healing effect.

This book is a great read! A book that you can chip away, a chapter at a time, and learn endlessly from.
micael88 –
Totally different read! Enthralling! Themes kept resonating with me as often they would “crystallize” thoughts, dreams, and vague theories that have flashed across my mind. Amazing as some chapter’s authors with experiences so different than mine, yet interestingly didn’t seem to matter theme-wise. Reconnecting Broken Bonds chapter, Phoenix Trueblood quite memorable illustrating the universal woo pthemes of this book. An enriching and still entertaining work!

Striking Similarities To Ifa
A most enjoyable and thoughtful read, crafted by two dozen different authors….each with widely varying perspectives, experiences, backgrounds and advice. This strikes me not as a book that you must read straight thru cover to cover in one sitting, but one that you can pop in and out of, and come back to more than once, depending on your interests or spiritual needs at the time.
GBD –
Some things I read in this book are strikingly similar to what I practice in African spirituality (Ifa), especially regarding the ancestors (Egungun as we call them) from offerings to herbs to rituals. Perhaps we are not so different after all. This book is for anyone and everyone looking to connect with their ancestors, heal from trauma, and build upon their spiritual journey.
Wayne @ Nature Spirit Drums –

Inspirational and practical! Each chapter reveals a new author’s story, as well as his/her recommended tools for you to employ to connect to your ancestors. It’s delightful to be given so much guidance on the many ways you can connect to the healing power that comes with accessing your ancestral wisdom. I see a lot of ceremonies in my future!

In the world of genealogy there is an acknowledgement of a phenomenon called “genealogy serendipity”, which is the experience of feeling guided in some way by the ancestors we are researching. There are books and FB groups dedicated to the experience. The Ancestors Within addresses this idea, but from the perspective of ancestral connection and healing. Each story is truly heartfelt and interesting. Robin Ivy Haywood’s experience of healing ancestral trauma was particularly poignant. Most stories left me wanting to know a little more.
John Watson –
I truly enjoyed this book and it’s a great transformational guide for Ancestral healing and chapter 14 written by Phoenix Trueblood and her near death experience has Phoenix emotional about using the power of a ceremony to heal one’s troubles and expell one’s negatively from their body. I have experienced her personalized transformational ceremony work and it is wonderful. Phoenix is so passionate about her work and her kindness is truly amazing.

So many ways to be thoughtful and present with those who have gone before us. Well written chapters in so many different modalities allowed me to learn and quench my continuous curiosity.

The best tools for self-healing are those that come with a story. This book has 25 of them! Heart-wrenching, soul-pulling, sometimes tear-jerking stories of discovery, healing, and life-changing moments. Each story brought me to a place of discovery within myself. I could relate to the stories of having the courage to move past the limitations of the past generations while still honoring the paths that led them to where they ended up. I loved the tools for honoring our ancestors in varied ways. When we heal the wounds of our ancestors, we heal ourselves and our children, and ultimately, we heal the world.

I met one of the contributors to the book at a weekend retreat in July 2021 and ended up with a copy after that. Once I started reading it though, I knew I couldn’t keep it to myself. I have since gifted it 3 times. Such an incredible wealth of information and beautiful storytelling. I cry every time I read a chapter. It’s very well laid out and a joy to read. A powerful resource.
